Began with the: “Three Gorges Dam”（050525）

出了國才真正體會到愛國。這話一點都沒錯。將就著我得這broken english，肯定是一塌糊塗，歡迎指正，但是話粗也得讓我把道理給說出來呀。且看：

 

There’s a lots of controversial about China’s “Three Gorges Dam”.

 

China is developing very fast; it need more and more energy resourse. It is so “interesting”, If China burning coal to produce electricity, western country talk about “pollution” to us, if  we use “new clear” to produce electricity, they talk about nuclear pollution. So we decide hydro-electric project: Three gorges dam. They pick up “environment protection”. I bet if we cancel all project, they will talk about “poverty” to us. So, who cares what they said, whatever they said never being good, we should concentrate on our own decision make the decision we trust is right , that’s all.

 

Talk about BBC most people thinks it has very good reputation, and trusts it very much. But to most Chinese people, they know BBC reprehensive most of the western voice. They report things from the view of western country.”Xinhua”report agency always be China’s good point, while BBC concentrate on China’s negative side. So we listening both, and draw the middle picture, that is more close to the truth.

 

It’s popular nowadays to act as know China very well. Like some people said:” The government takes the land and pays almost nothing!” They got this information form western view reporter, while they don’t know there are more land taken are accepted by Chinese people. I see and heard even experienced some. But western omit big part and concentrate on tome “point”, and they think China is like this. It is funny!

 

China government have prepared this project almost 100 years from the very beginning, lots of discussion and dispute been carried on. We even spent 1% of the $25 billion on archaeology to protect the old things but BBC omit such things also,

 

We know what we are doing, we know what we do never being easy, we know lot of criticize are waiting outside. We balance the good side and the bad side, we take the risk. Everything takes risk, even you drive a car. The point is whether it worth the risk.

 

We can prevent the flooding which is very bad. We can produce electricity which means not only money, it also means the economic. Chinese people’s many work opportunities, their life, even respect.

 

Our ancestor already done the same things long time ago.”Dujiangyan”in Sichuan province is very famous. Sichuan province benefits a lot from this. No more flood, good for agriculture. People even built temple for the builder to thanks them.

 

Anyway, I know dispute is common for such big project, same dispute arised at Canada’s one and USA’s one which proved been successful.

 

Sometime money can prove worth be respected. It sounds stupid, but it’s truth.
