陽陽的 IEP meeting - autistic-like qualification

今天上午去了校區的 IEP meeting，有好幾個老師在場，speech therapist, OT, (PT 沒有), psychologist, academic assessor, special education coordinator, current special education teacher, and a retired special education specialist。大家講了陽陽的長處和不足，討論了陽陽的各項評估的報告。最後給我們的建議是：

陽陽因為 autistic-like （自閉），可以繼續接受校區的服務，包括：

30 minutes weekly speech group sessions
30 minuets of monthly consult RSP for case management
45 monthly consultation for occupational therapy
3 hours 5 days per week of preschool instruction

His autistic-like behaviors include:

1. An inability to use oral language for appropriate communication (陽陽在做評估的時候，不說話，雖然他的語言達到3歲11個月的程度）
2. A history of extreme withdrawal or relating to people inappropriately and continued impairment in social interaction from infancy through early childhood
3. Extreme preoccupation with objects or inappropriate use of objects of both (酷愛車)

幾個老師都對新學校讚不絕口。這是附近學區的一個新建小學附屬的 preschool，有兩個班，專門是訓練 speech 的。班上有6－8個學生，一個老師，一個助理。老師是受過特殊訓練的。班上學生都有不同的語言問題，平時上課老師注重語言訓練和其它 academic skills。我們會被安排盡快參觀新學校，盡快決定是否轉到這個學校。現在的老師 Jennifer 將會在最初的階段，陪陽陽上課。

晚上我們全家開車去學校那邊看。原來是陽陽朋友 sophie 和 taylor 家附近的。那一帶是住宅區，不知道學區如何。陽陽畢業後，可以回到我們學區上 K。很感激政府，對陽陽這麽關懷。希望這個學校適合陽陽。希望陽陽能夠開心的上學。
