Saturday we went to the second half of the childbirth class. We learned about interventions--induction, augmentation, drugs, c-sections. The c-section rate is 25%, unplanned. Then today I read that the c-section rate in 2005 is a record high of 30%. I think it has to do with the amount of medical intervention during childbirth. We learned a few techniques during labor--birth ball, cat and cow, walking, etc. The husbands also learned massage techniques. :) When asked about Kegel exercises, the teacher doesn't think the result is significant. That was a relief too.
Friday we went to Baby Depot to get the crib we liked, but they didn't have it in stock. We only picked out some crib sheet set, and then I realized it was not 100% cotton. Maybe I will exchange it next time. We are getting teddy bear theme now since we have already so many bears for the baby. Back home we tried to find the same crib online. Only Target had it but the shipping would be $100. Another online store listed the crib, and we picked out a matching combo unit (changing table plus dresser). Today I called the store and confirmed the delivery, but after we put in our order, we were told that the items were back ordered for a couple of months. We became panicked. Fortunately I remembered that Baby Depot told us that the cribs is available in another branch. We rushed there today, and bought the crib and the combo dresser right away. They were very nice pieces--better and cheaper than the ones we picked out online (after much research). Tomorrow I will have to pick them up. Later today we picked up some used baby stuff from a friend.
We are making progress with the baby stuff. We still need to pick out baby names.
