昨天在教會，領會的長老帶領我們讀了詩篇第 139 篇， 這是大衛在曠野裏躲避掃羅捉拿期間所寫的詩：
139:1 耶和華阿，你已經鑒察我，認識我。
O Lord, you have knowledge of me, searching out all my secrets.
139:2 我坐下，我起來，你都曉得。你從遠處知道我的意念。
You have knowledge when I am seated and when I get up, you see my thoughts from far away.
139:3 我行路，我躺臥，你都細察，你也深知我一切所行的。
You keep watch over my steps and my sleep, and have knowledge of all my ways.
139:4 耶和華阿，我舌頭上的話，你沒有一句不知道的。
For there is not a word on my tongue which is not clear to you, O Lord.
139:5 你在我前後環繞我，按手在我身上。
I am shut in by you on every side, and you have put your hand on me.
139:6 這樣的知識奇妙，是我不能測的。至高，是我不能及的。
Such knowledge is a wonder greater than my powers; it is so high that I may not come near it.
139:7 我往那裏去躲避你的靈。 我往那裏逃能躲避你的麵 ?
Where may I go from your spirit? how may I go in flight from you?
139:8 我若升到天上，你在那裏。我若在陰間下榻，你也在那裏。
If I go up to heaven, you are there: or if I make my bed in the underworld, you are there.
139:9 我若展開清晨的翅膀，飛到海極居住，
If I take the wings of the morning, and go to the farthest parts of the sea;
139:10 就是在那裏，你的手必引導我，你的右手，也必扶持我。
Even there will I be guided by your hand, and your right hand will keep me.
139:11 我若說，黑暗必定遮蔽我，我周圍的亮光必成為黑夜。
If I say, Only let me be covered by the dark, and the light about me be night;
139:12 黑暗也不能遮蔽我使你不見，黑夜卻如白晝發亮。黑暗和光明，在你看都是一樣。
Even the dark is not dark to you; the night is as bright as the day: for dark and light are the same to you.
139:13 我的肺腑是你所造的。我在母腹中，你已覆庇我。
My flesh was made by you, and my parts joined together in my mother's body.
139:14 我要稱謝你，因我受造，奇妙可畏。你的作為奇妙，這是我心深知道的。
I will give you praise, for I am strangely and delicately formed; your works are great wonders, and of this my soul is fully conscious.
139:15 我在暗中受造，在地的深處被聯絡。那時，我的形體並不向你隱藏。
My frame was not unseen by you when I was made secretly, and strangely formed in the lowest parts of the earth.
139:16 我未成形的體質，你的眼早已看見了。你所定的日子，我尚未度一日，你都寫在你的冊上了。
Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book all my days were recorded, even those which were purposed before they had come into being.
139:17 神阿，你的意念向我何等寶貴。其數何等眾多！
How dear are your thoughts to me, O God! how great is the number of them!
139:18 我若數點，比海沙更多。我睡醒的時候，仍和你同在。
If I made up their number, it would be more than the grains of sand; when I am awake, I am still with you.

139:23 神阿，求你鑒察我，知道我的心思，試煉我，知道我的意念。
O God, let the secrets of my heart be uncovered, and let my wandering thoughts be tested:
139:24 看在我裏麵有什麽惡行沒有，引導我走永生的道路。
See if there is any way of sorrow in me, and be my guide in the eternal way.
這段詩篇以前也讀過， 每次讀感覺不同。 昨天給我深刻非常印象的是這幾句：
“ 我往那裏去躲避你的靈。 我往那裏逃能躲避你的麵 ? 我若升到天上，你在那裏，我若在陰間下榻，你也在那裏。”
“我若展開清晨的翅膀，飛到海極居住，就是在那裏，你的手必引導我，你的右手，也必扶持我。
我若說，黑暗必定遮蔽我，我周圍的亮光必成為黑夜。黑暗也不能遮蔽我使你不見，黑夜卻如白晝發亮。黑暗和光明，在你看都是一樣。”
我過去讀經的印象， 上帝是光，救主是光，不會臨到黑暗之處，不會停在黑暗之地。 但在這裏大衛相信的是：上帝與我同在，即使我在黑暗之處， 即使我下到陰間， 上帝仍然和我同在， 引導 我走他的義路。
大衛寫這些詩篇的背景是在曠野荒漠中，當時他受到掃羅的追殺， 因為先知撒母耳已經按上帝的旨意宣告大衛是神所選的代替掃羅的王，並且，大衛勇敢殺退以色列勁敵非利士的巨人歌利亞的行為也已使他贏得民心，威脅到掃羅王的權力。大權在握的掃羅， 想要置大衛於死地以維護自己在以色列的統治權威。
大衛孤身一人， 被王追殺，流落荒野之時， 能寫下這樣的詩句， 他對上帝的信心之大讓人稱奇！ 他相信上帝與他同在， 縱使他不能解救自己， 上帝與他同在， 無所不能的上帝會保護他不受傷害，解救他脫離敵手。
掃羅後來死於與非利士人的戰爭，大衛終於脫離了他的追殺， 於是他又寫了一首詩讚美上帝救他脫敵手，這首詩記載在舊約撒母爾紀下那卷經文中：
“ 22:17 他從高天伸手抓住我 ，把我從大水中拉上來。
He sent from on high, he took me, pulling me out of great waters.
22:18 他救我脫離我的勁敵和那些恨我的人 ，因為他們比我強盛 。
He made me free from my strong hater, from those who were against me, because they were stronger than I.
22:19 我遭遇災難的日子， 他們來攻擊我。 但耶和華是我的倚靠。
They came on me in the day of my trouble: but the Lord was my support.
22:20 他又領我到寬闊之處。 他拯 救我 ，因他喜悅我。
He took me out into a wide place; he was my saviour because he had delight in me.
22:21 耶和華按著我的公義報答我， 按著我手中的清潔賞賜我。
The Lord gives me the reward of my righteousness, because my hands are clean before him.

22:29 耶和華阿，你是我的燈。 耶和華必照明我的黑暗 。
For you are my light, O Lord; and the Lord will make the dark bright for me.
22:30 我借著你衝入敵軍，借著我的神跳過牆垣。
By your help I have made a way through the wall which was shutting me in: by the help of my God I have gone over a wall.
22:31 至於神，他的道是完全的。耶和華的話是煉淨的。凡投靠他的，他便作他們的盾牌。
As for God, his way is all good: the word of the Lord is tested; he is a safe cover for all those who put their faith in him.
22:32 除了耶和華，誰是神呢？ 除了我們的神 ， 誰是磐石呢 ？
For who is God but the Lord? and who is a Rock but our God?
22:33 神是我堅固的保障。 他引導完全人行他的路 。
God puts a strong band about me, guiding me in a straight way.
22:34 他使我的腳快如母鹿的蹄 ， 又使我在高處安穩 。
He makes my feet like roes' feet, and puts me on high places.
22:35 他教導我的手能以爭戰 ，甚至我的膀臂能開銅弓 。
He makes my hands expert in war, so that a bow of brass is bent by my arms.
22:36 你把你的救恩給我作盾牌 。 你的仁慈使我為大 。
You have given me the breastplate of your salvation, and your mercy has made me great.
22:37 你使我腳下的地步寬闊。 我的腳未曾滑跌 。
You have made my steps wide under me, so that my feet make no slip.
22:38 我追趕我的仇敵 ， 滅絕了他們， 未滅以先 ， 我沒有歸回。
I go after my haters and overtake them; not turning back till they are all overcome.
22:39 我滅絕了他們 ， 打傷了他們 ， 使他們不能起來。 他們都倒在我的腳下 。
I have sent destruction on them and given them wounds, so that they are not able to get up: they are stretched under my feet.
22:40 因為你曾以力量束我的腰， 使我能爭戰 。 你也使那起來攻擊我的都服在我以下 。
For I have been armed by you with strength for the fight: you have made low under me those who came out against me.

22:48 這位神就是那為我伸冤 ， 使眾民服在我以下的 。
It is God who sends punishment on my haters, and puts peoples under my rule.
22:49 你救我脫離仇敵 ， 又把我舉起 ， 高過那些起來功擊我的 。 你救我 脫離強暴的人 。
He makes me free from my haters: I am lifted up over those who come up against me: you have made me free from the violent man.
22:50 耶和華阿 ， 因此我要在外邦中稱謝你 ， 歌頌你的名 。
Because of this I will give you praise, O Lord, among the nations, and will make a song of praise to your name.
22:51 耶和華賜極大的救恩給他所立的王 ， 施慈愛給他的受膏者 ， 就是給大衛和他的後裔 ， 直到永遠。
Great salvation does he give to his king; he has mercy on the king of his selection, David, and on his seed for ever.
大衛的思想是“ 主按我的善良和我雙手的清白來賞賜我”，“主使我的黑暗變成光明”，“你救我脫離仇敵 ， 又把我舉起 ， 高過那些起來功擊我的” ， “主是我的堅固堡壘， 他引導我前行”， “我要稱謝你， 歌頌你的名”。
這些思想是大衛信的核心，他擁有的是上帝的意象， the vision of God, 就是：他在任何情況下都能看到上帝的作用。響應上帝的呼招，靠著上帝和我同在的信心， 他成為了以色列最偉大的君王。
牧師說， 能克服困難，成就大業的人，心中必有上帝的意象， The vision of God 。 他們知道自己從事的事情是上帝的事業， 他們知道上帝和他們同在， 保護他們， 應許這事業總會成功。 遇到困難也不用懼怕。摩西，大衛， 耶利米，以賽亞，保羅的經曆無一例外， 他們都曾經從最初的自我懷疑走向成就大事。
我很喜歡這個猶太裔英文老牧師的講道， 他雖然已經退休，但每次隻要他回來講道， 總是能夠融會貫通地講解聖經的人物和思想， 大大地激勵人們的很容易失落的信心。
每個人都需要得到上帝的鼓勵。也許上帝知道這一點，他顧惜我們在黑暗中掙紮的心，及時地通過老牧師來清楚地講解聖經裏這些激勵人心的故事和詩篇。
