意大利電影音樂巨擘, Ennio Morricone， 也許是二十世紀最偉大、最多產的電影配樂大師之一。我們已經無法計算他創作了多少部電影的配樂，大概有差不多500部，幾乎任何風格的電影都有他的創作足跡。他創作的音樂風格極其多樣化，種類可謂繁多至極，從古典、爵士到電子、搖滾都在他的音樂作品中有所體現。他曾活得了英國影藝學院5座大獎尊榮、99年歐洲電影獎終身成就獎，也曾因《天堂之日》(Days of Heaven)、《教會》(The Mission)、《鐵麵無私》 (The Untouchable)、《豪情四海》(Bugsy)、《真愛伴我行》(Malena)五次榮獲奧斯卡原作音樂提名獎。 有趣的是，他同樣也為許多粗製濫造的電影作過配樂。尤其是在他音樂創作生涯的早期，他對所要配樂的電影本身的水平並不關心，以至於很多配樂在樂迷中廣為流傳，而電影早被人遺忘。他後來自嘲的說：若是知道當初這些配樂的電影如此糟糕，我就應該寫出同樣低水平的音樂來相稱才是。 Morricone的音樂具有深刻的含義和浪漫的氣質，更使得他的音樂能夠和電影塑造的氣氛融合的恰到好處，他尤其注重聽者內在感情的細膩變化，讓聽者內心產生共鳴，而大師對於音樂的深刻理解和把握更令人肅然起敬。 快遞裏已多次貼過他的《海上鋼琴師》配樂，我前麵貼的德黑蘭-43，夢開始的地方裏的音樂都是他的作品。 電影《教會》配樂Gabriel's Oboe是莫裏克奈的代表作之一，是在觀眾並不熟悉電影本身的情形下，仍然能夠在巿場上維持很好的銷售成成績和知名度的作品。後來美聲天後Sarah Brightman多次懇求，莫裏克奈同意她錄製了此曲的翻唱版，Nella fantasia (In my fantasy)。 Sarah told the audience at her One night in Eden concert the background of "Nella Fantasia"，"My next song was originally an instrumental written by the composer Ennio Morricone for the film 'The Mission'. About three years ago I wrote Mr. Morricone, asking if he would give ne permission to turn this particular piece into a song. He flatly refused. So every two months I would send yet another begging letter, until I think he got so sich of me, he finally relented. And I am really glad that he did, because I think it works beautifully as a song."
