Jesse Cook is a Toronto-based Nuevo Flamenco guitarist, born in Paris to Canadian parents. Like other guitarists of his style of music, he incorporates jazz, latin & world music into his playing.

Cook is also well known for the energy of his live shows. He has contributed to the Afro Celt Sound System album Seed, and often has other popular recording artists contribute vocals on his own albums. He has recorded on the Narada label.

Canción is a genre of Latin American music that was popular in the first half of the 20th century. It is characterized by its lyrical, Italianate qualities. The canción is divided nearly always in long stanzas with the same number of verses.

"Canción" means song in Spanish. In the Renaissance, the term was often used interchangeably with cantiga, cantar, canson, and sometimes villancico; it was related to the chanson of the Franco-Flemish school. Canción was the least specific term to cover all the popular, secular styles of vocal music of Spain at the time. In Spanish-language concerts and recordings, when the title of a particular song does not belong to a danceable genre, its genre is mentioned as "canción".

Vertigo is the third album by the New Flamenco artist Jesse Cook. Musicians vary by track, including Jesse Cook, Stanley Dural Jr. aka Buckwheat Zydeco, Art Avalos, Ofra Harnoy, Blake Manning, Carmen Romero, Djivan Gasparyan, George Koller, Mario Melo, Etric Lyons, and Holly Cole. The final track, "Fragile," includes a second song.
