I am very thankful for the beautiful poems and photos by my poetry friend 白九. He planted lotus flowers in his backyard last summer. Everyday, he visited them, took photos, and wrote a poem. I followed him for two weeks, writing echo poems with him. Here they are: twelve seven-character quatrains. I put them together and rearranged them. It reads like a love story, with a beginning and an ending, and drama. I hope you like it. With this collection, I would also like to thank those who taught me writing quatrains poems and led me to a beautiful world of Chinese metrical poems.

【荷塘風月集】（12首平水韻七絕）

田田悄起一柔腸，裹緊荷芯不允香。細雨晴風郎筆墨，相思縷縷藕中藏。

情真君愛荷三夜，水月風華盡入簾。旦旦郎吟初相見：桃花從此不同天！

初心一簇玉真顏，留取清香且嫋嬛。粒粒珍珠君待啟，有絲苦芯掩中間。

紙上鴛鴦已數年，情天恨海韻千篇。祈來風靜平塘月，夢裏聞香夜裏纏。

波中蓮蕊有奇香，吐盡魚泡肺腑腸。忽瞥岸邊人影晃，嘩啦掉尾蕸間藏。

芙蓉怎比草泥香，吐泡皆因嘴角涼。俺是河東魚下惠，目不斜視捉蟲忙。

飛翅那年繞荷嗡，香盈玉芯軟凝瞳。今晨婷立塘中笑，粉袖輕舒不見蟲。

曾是塘中顏最美，蝶親風逐暖香偎。東君似遇烏雲惹，失血蓮花淺淡開。

驟來泥水攪塘清，雨打風摧十磅輕。祈得東君憐恣意，小紅不負玉環名。
