美國音樂家、鋼琴家Billy Joel (比利·喬) 1949年5月9日出生於紐約的希克斯維爾。4歲就開始接受鋼琴訓練，雖然7歲時父親的棄家，使他和母親二人陷於困境，但Billy Joel從未放棄對音樂的濃厚興趣。1968年他就以一名自彈自唱的民謠歌手形象出現在歌壇上，多年不得誌的日子並沒有使Billy Joel失掉音樂創作的信心，反而使他愈挫愈勇，堅守自己獨樹一幟的創作風格。他曾獲6次格萊美獎，全球唱片銷量已超一億。

Billy Joel 1977年專輯《The Stranger》裏的這首著名歌曲《She's Always A Woman》，是一首很有意思的歌，講述一個男人無可救藥的愛上一個女人的故事。這首歌的歌詞抒發了Joel個人感情生活的體驗。這種體驗也引發了不少男士的共鳴！或無奈！

這首歌的靈感，是來自於 Joel 的前妻，他的前妻是一位很強勢的時代女性，名叫 Elizabeth Weber；Joel 愛上了她，並包容了 Weber 的怪癖和缺點，並以 “She’s always a woman to me. 她對我來說始終是一個女人。” 來作為自己包容她的理由！
