The Fog Day by Huilan
The thick fog comes from
The deepening shades of dusk
It comes from Mississippi River
Where the wideness ends
The fog snatches forests from the sunlight
From the cold dark mountains
Flow streams caring my melancholy mood
I only see my home in my memory
It is so far away inside or outside of my dreams
I do not dare to stand on the peak of the mountain
A view so distant yet bringing my home no closer
I miss you
But the path to you is long
And it is cloaked by the fog
I don't know how many mountains and rivers
Still are in front of me
Or how many borders of states and countries
I need to cross
My need to earn American dollar
Only impedes my journey
No matter how fast the car
It is not quicker than my spirit that flies to
The nest of my heart
As the dusk draws close
I cannot hold back my tears
Tonight
When the zither sound is near
Where will my heart rest
