Happy words in Lantern FestivalChinese New Year will draw an end to this year on the occasion of Lantern Festival. Many of us are saying that this year, the Spring Festival seems to be getting lighter and lighter, and the years with full of New Year's flavor will always be only in memory.

I remember that on a Lantern Festival night 30 years ago, with the dense crowds walking in the lantern festival of Xuanwu Lake Park, they used to be a lively festival atmosphere. What kind of experience we had at that time can no longer be inquired about now. We can only appreciate the life at that time with the current eyes, as if we saw the happiness at that time.

When I was college freshman, I used to recite Tang poetry, Song Ci, and poems of characters in Dream of Red Mansions along with my surrounding environment, but I didn’t understand the story scenes behind them, and they didn’t enter our lives in the end.

Perhaps the existence of each thing is inseparable from its cultural heritage at that time. Later generations can look for the splendor that once existed in the long river of history, but we cannot copy them, can it?

Imagine if our writing goes back to the era of the Eight Great Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties, what kind of struggles and challenges will you and I face? Those long-standing historical paintings, murals, and sculptures should be the crystallization of that era, and all the traces of that era are conceived in them, leaving a lot of room for future generations to explore.

Just like a media person who I has been paying attention to recently, she is telling the story behind Su Dongpo and his poems, letting him settle down in those years, and opening a window for us today, seeing the past years Beyond the brilliance, there are ditches and ridges, "A mountain is a mountain when you look at it, a mountain is not a mountain when you look at it again, and a mountain is still a mountain when you look at it again”.

I have been learning painting with my teacher on and off for ten years. I found that when copying other people's paintings, although the spirit is often different, the shape is still very similar. But when I created it myself, I found that there was not such a perfect match around me that could satisfy all my wishes. In that time and space, everything is not in the position I expected, and there are always some shortcomings that cannot be changed. Why?

The selection of a new oil painting started this week. I selected more than a dozen photos I took in recent years, and judged them with my friends and teachers, but none of them were very satisfactory. Finally, I chose a picture of me on the forest trail in Minnesota three years ago. A humble photo. Having done its first step, drawing the outlines, I think the drawing process will be very interesting.

Perhaps the process of enjoying every unknown thing is far more exciting than we have seen the ending from the beginning. This is the motivation and source for us to move forward.
