昨晚的toaster master網上周會上，隻是一個speaker, 那就是Bill. 我是timer. 他一開口的話讓我愣了一下，都忘記了給他記時。
他大概的原話是： During this Chinese plague, we have to act positively to cope with it.
除了在電視新聞上聽到破總統說 Chinese virus 外，現實工作生活中聽到和使用的都是pandemic, Covid, Covid-19. 第一次聽到有人當麵說 Chinese plague，我的情緒受到了不小的震動，雖然我一下子也不明白為什麽。
好想馬上退出，但我覺得太下策。Bill 還在演講，但我已經決定放棄給他計時。我在他的一個講話的間隙中問道，你還要講多久，你沒告訴我們你的時間，我也沒有給你計時。他就結束了。會議繼續進行。
我一直在盤算著怎麽樣讓這件事過去，要不要進一步回應，如何回應才是最正確和智慧的。
到了最後毎個人的一分鍾即興演講時刻，我終於說到，tonight I am upset by the words Bill used in his speech. 馬上有人回應說 I understand. It all because of the stupid president.
會議結束後，我収到了兩個Messages:
1. I’m so sorry that we have some closed minded speeches. Thank you for being in toastmasters [heart][heart][heart]
2. Thanks for calling out the use of an unfortunate phrase at last night's meeting. I'm sure it was not directed at you personally, but it was still hurtful. I'm sorry.
Some may believe the use of such phrases is clever, but it's not. I will strive to avoid such language and will encourage others to do the same.
Thanks for all you do.
今天是第二天，想起咋晚上的這件事，情緒上已經趨於平靜。我想我當時沒有馬上退會是對的；選擇說出來讓大家知道我 upset 了，我也做對了，我為自己高興。
我想可能更高明的做法是當時能夠用更輕鬆幽默的方式表達出自己的不滿。可惜我目前還不具備這樣的思想和表達能力。
