To me, Van Gogh is the best artist in the world. Certainly, he is the most popular and greatest artist above all the time. The most beloved one in nowadays. His command of a color was the most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into an ecstatic beauty. Pain was easy to portray but he used his passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world. No one had ever done it before. Perhaps no one ever will again. In my mind, that strange wild man who roamed the fields of Provence, was not only the world's greatest artist but also one of the greatest men who had ever lived."?

那天翻出在學校學習美術簡史時寫的一段對梵高的感想。其實那時也狂迷那首叫“VINCENT”的歌曲，一個美國當代搖滾歌星作曲填詞並演唱的。他寫盡了人們對梵高的理解和深愛。我感慨兩個不同領域額的人，在那歌者讀梵高傳記時引發了高度的共鳴深刻的理解。這首歌從70年代後就一直是荷蘭梵高家鄉紀念館裏每天每時重複播放的曲目。一代人對他的景仰。我有一個月幾乎經常聽這首歌，其實我分析自己更多的是聽我對自己的自憐。

"They never know my sanctity." 所以一首傳唱廣泛久遠的歌，真的不是隻懷念偉大的靈魂，它還憐惜普羅大眾。
