A Kongzhu Performance空竹表演秀

       大部分在中國的人有七天的假期來慶祝國慶節。在紐約沒有這樣的氣氛,所以我試圖為自己安排一些節目。一個是台灣人慶祝自己的國慶節(Oct 10th)的空竹表演。

        演出的劇場離法拉盛很遠,它在長島的LIU。我找它的位置找的很艱難。它的日期是在一個工作日的晚上七點。天黑又下雨,我迷路了。在whitney 路上轉圈。最後我終於找到了入口。

         我遲到了20分鍾,演出還沒有開始。開始後,幾位VIP演講者做了首輪祝詞,這又花了20分鍾。組織有一點鬆散,像是一個老式的中國風格。

         這場表演是一個空竹技巧的表演。這是我第一次在舞台上看到空竹表演而不是在公園的退休者表演。表演團隊把一個本地的體育遊戲變成了一個很好的演出,有聲樂/電子音效背景/舞台燈光變化配合。叫星瀚盛宴,真不為過。

         大概有十四個男演員和女演員。他們都有不同的職位:一些歌手、一些舞者、一些空竹表演者、一些太鼓鼓手。他們呈現了多個表現台灣海島漁民生活和娛樂的風情場景。

         表演團隊真的給盡了玩空竹可能性:一個人自己玩,兩個人組團隊玩;六人組的更有吸引力:兩個人抖動兩條長繩,讓空竹從前到後翻轉到兩側獨立空竹玩家的小繩上去。最激動人心的表演是:兩個分別站在舞台後方走道的男人玩空竹,讓它在空中傳給25米外舞台上的女演員。然後兩個舞台者會讓空竹在自己的繩子上翻轉在返回25米開外過道盡頭的男演員繩上,來回反複,空竹帶著LED亮光滿場飛馳,這一幕很有挑戰性,引來全場鼓掌聲。

        依我看來,這場演出本身沒有太強技巧,但是導演能力令人印象深刻。 他組織歌者舞者抖空竹表演者,充分利用背景的音樂、光、電子音效,創造了一個動態喧鬧的完美的舞台。他們還有和觀眾的互動交流環節,有小醜魚串場表演,所有形式都有用到,是一個很成功的表演。

        雖然我在一個漆黑的雨夜中駕車回家有一點困難,我依舊覺得這是一個值得的夜晚————看到一場很好的演出並近距離觀察了紐約台灣人聚會。他們是另一群中國人,是大陸的中國人的一麵鏡子,看見他們就像見了一群客居海外的同鄉。

 

There was a seven-day break for most of people in China for celebrating the Chinese National day( Oct 1st) .There is no atmosphere here in New York, so I try to arrange some shows

for myself. One is a Kongzhu performance of Kongzhu which Taiwanese in N.Y. celebrated for their National day of Oct 10th.

           The performance theatre was far away from Flushing, it is In LIU post in Long island.  I tried quite hard to find the location. It was scheduled at7:30pm on a weekday night, it was quite dark and rainy, and I lost the road, circling around Whitney road again and again, until I finally found the entrance.

         I was late about 20 minutes, and the show still did not begin. When it began,  several VIP speakers made the first presentation, and it took another 20minutes.The organization was a little bit loose, like an old Chinese style.

          The show was actually a KONZHU skill performing. It was the first time I see Kongzhu performance on stage except in a park played by a retiree. The performance group made a native sport game into a wonderful performance with some vocal singer/electric video background/stage light change.

                  There were about 14 actors and actresses. They have different positions: some singers, some dancers, some performance, some drummers. They make a whole scene and flavor of the Taiwan island people’s lives and entertainment.

          The performance group really gave Kongzhu play in  the full possibility: One person is playing by herself; two persons are playing with a team; and the six people group is more attractive_ two persons play with two long ropes, letting the KONGZHU rolling back and forth to reach the small ropes of single players. Two men who  are standing separately on the far ends of the audience aisle, played the KONGZHU and transferred them in air to the stage actresses, about 25 meters far, and two stager would keep the Kongzhu rolling on their personal rope.That is challenging. In my opinion, the show itself does not have much skill, but the director makes impressive work by coordinating the performers, the music, the lights and electric video showing as the background. They have periods to dynamite-period with the audience.I listened to some fisher folk songs too. It was a successful performing.

              Though it embraced me a little bit to drive back to my home in a dark raining night, I still felt it was valuable night to see a good performance and a bunch of Taiwanese gathering for a social event. They were another group of Chinese, a mirror of Chinese from Mainland.
