要知我有多愛你，讓我來告訴你：

最近重讀了白朗寧夫人的詩集《葡萄牙人的十四行詩集》(The Sonnets from the Portuguese)，這本詩集共收錄了其44首十四行詩。《我多愛你》（How do I love thee?）是其中的第43首，也是最為有名的一首愛情禮讚詩。有感於現有諸多譯本在理解和再現方麵的不足，遂決定自己來做個嚐試，看看能不能更好一些將詩人發自內心的對愛情的謳歌用中文將其表達出來，倘能如願，此心深慰矣。

說明：詩中的“How do I love thee？”，正如其他譯者翻譯的那樣，本應直譯為“我怎樣愛你？”或“我如何（地）愛你”。但考慮到詩人要表達的是“我多麽地愛你”或“我有多愛你”，同時“我怎樣愛你”不太象詩歌的語言，故在翻譯時，將題目譯為“我多愛你”，而將第一句中的“How do I love thee？”譯成“要知我有多愛你”，這樣與下麵的“讓我告訴你”的內容就自然連貫了。
