致桂芬

Robert Burns 是蘇格蘭詩人，他雖然沒有到過我所在的這個城市，可是他寫過一首詩讚美這個城市（好像是有個侄子不遠萬裏來到這裏），我們這個城市最早是蘇格蘭移民開發的，所以到現在還有很多那個時代的建築，很多街名也跟愛丁堡的一樣，我們文學院的那個大樓就叫 “Burns Building”……

Burns 最著名的詩，或者說最廣為流傳的大概是《我心在高原》了。我也非常喜歡這首詩，讀了這首詩，我就心想高原了……

My Heart's In The Highlands

My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here, 
My heart's in the Highlands a-chasing the deer, 
A-chasing the wild deer and following the roe - 
My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go! 

Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North, 
The birthplace of valour, the country of worth! 
Wherever I wander, wherever I rove, 
The hills of the Highlands for ever I love. 

Farewell to the mountains high cover'd with snow, 
Farewell to the straths and green valleys below, 
Farewell to the forests and wild-hanging woods, 
Farewell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods! 

 

有位叫柞裏子的說：“左上角實在是有所欠缺”，於是就有了位叫無戒的說：“把文字放在高光處，可以給現在女孩子當明信片用！”
