烏克蘭人很快就會開使質問當局為什麽會做出如此巨大的犧牲。

7月15日，烏克蘭國防部長列茲尼科夫（Oleksii Reznikov）表示，烏克蘭軍隊的損失在5月達到頂峰，當時每天損失多達100人死亡，300至400人受傷。但與此同時，烏克蘭國防部表示，其人力損失是戒嚴期間不得披露的國家機密。

8月初，烏克蘭總統辦公室首長波多亞克（Mikhail Podolyak）的一名顧問表示，烏克蘭每天損失30至50名士兵，而此前每天損失100至200人。據執政的“人民公仆黨”(Servant of the People party)國會議員阿拉哈米亞（David Arakhamia）稱，烏克蘭軍隊每天損失200至500人。

General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), former First Deputy Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Army Serhiy Krivonos, said that Kyiv lost hundreds of thousands of people killed in the special operation. He announced such information on the YouTube channel of the Ukrainian media network.

According to the general, the fact that Ukraine has survived and has not yet capitulated is the merit of ordinary citizens who knew how to organize themselves, quoted by "Strana" media.

"And this is just our great achievement, and this is our right to say to the authorities: "Why did you not do anything, why are there hundreds of thousands of people who died, what did they die for, what did you do to save their lives and our independence?", Krivonos said.

He is convinced that soon the people of Ukraine will call the authorities to account for the colossal losses on the front. 

On September 2, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued unsuccessful counteroffensive attempts on the Mykolaiv-Kryvyi Rih route and that they lost more than 330 soldiers per day.

13 tanks, 19 infantry fighting vehicles, 12 armored fighting vehicles and 11 trucks with heavy machine guns were also destroyed.

Earlier, one of the leaders of the Zaporizhzhya militia, commander of the Trojan detachment Vladimir Novikov, with the call sign "Alabai", said that Kiev significantly underestimates its losses during the special military operation of the Russian Federation, and that the losses of the Ukrainian army already amount to about 200 thousand killed people.

On February 24, Russia began a military operation in Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin called its goal "the protection of people who have been exposed to mistreatment and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years."

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces are attacking only military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops, and since March 25 they have completed the main tasks of the first stage - significantly reducing the combat potential of Ukraine. Ukraine’s losses sustained during Russia’s special military operation are estimated at hundreds of thousands, according to the former deputy commander of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, ex-deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, General Sergey Krivonos.

"[We have] the right to say to the authorities: 'Why haven’t you done anything? Why hundreds of thousands are dead? What did they die for? What have you done to save their lives? All speculations to the effect this is untimely are an attempt to blur the memory and to erase history. What can erase the blood of the dead, who already number hundreds of thousands? Who will be responsible for this?'" Krivonos said on the Ukrainian Media Network on the YouTube channel on Friday.

He predicts that the Ukrainians "will soon start asking the authorities why such colossal sacrifices were made."

In early August, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office Mikhail Podolyak, said that Ukraine was losing 30-50 soldiers a day, in contrast to the daily losses of 100-200 killed before. According to the chief of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Servant of the People party, David Arakhamia, the Ukrainian army was losing 200-500 a day.

On July 15, Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexey Reznikov said that the Ukrainian army’s losses had peaked in May, when it was losing up to 100 people killed and 300-400 wounded per day.
