Connecticut state is named for Connecticut river which approximately bisects the state . The early residents here are native Indians, Connecticut is Indian, meaning Big river. 1614, Dutchmen got here and built their settlement. Later, in 1630s, English settlers moved here and built bigger settlements. Those English settlers won the Native Indians and took possession of this land. In 1788, by US constitution, Connecticut became the No.5 state of the original 13 states.

Connecticut is the 3rd smallest state by area. Even though, CT has abundant landscape. Around Litchfield Hills in northeast, mountains stretch for miles, farms spread out widely. In eastern New Haven area, you can see sharply contrast coastal scenes. Connecticut valley is in the center of the state where mountains, streams and valleys are covered in forests, numerous of quiet small towns with 17th and 18th-century colonial style houses dotting among hills, grass, pastures, brooks and woods.
