LOVE AT FIRST HEARING

FIRST impressions really do count when it comes to finding the perfect love match, according to research out yesterday.

But while 70 per cent of men judge a woman on looks, scientists claim 47 per cent of women (the biggest grouping) are spellbound by aman's tone of voice and manner of speech.

The researchers at Bath University, Somerset, also found 90 per cent of people decided the suitability of their partner in just 15.5 seconds, with men taking an average of 14.7 seconds and women, 16.8 seconds.
