Make-up free Halle Berry, 48, displays her natural beauty in casual striped cotton dress

She's one of the most glamorous film stars in Hollywood, but Halle Berry showed she's happy to display her natural beauty when she's off-duty.

The 48-year-old actress was pictured wearing no make-up on Sunday when she stepped out with her son Maceo to visit friends with her adorable 21-month-old.

Halle appeared to be in good spirits while wearing a low-maintenance striped brown cotton dress as she giggled with her friends.

Low-key: Halle Berry, 48, showed she's happy to display her natural beauty when she's off-duty as she visited her friends with her son Maceo, two, on Sunday

She looked beautiful despite not wearing an ounce of make-up, while she highlighted her slim legs in the summery dress by wearing a pair of black leggings underneath.

Halle wore a pair of silver sandals that matched her painted nails, while she later held a can of diet Coke in her hand.

She wore her hair in a tousled up-do as she enjoyed her day off with her son.

Halle was holding her 21-month-old boy from her marriage to Olivier Martinez in her arms - and the tot looked stylishly dressed in a cross print all-in-one suit.

He wore a cute pair of trainers that matched the rest of his attire, while he refused to let go of a pink cup that he kept firmly in his hands.

Doting mum Halle looked completely smitten with her son, as she helped him to walk on the grassy lawn.

Halle looked like she was enjoying a day with her son and friend. She flung her arms around her close pal, who was also seen in casual clothing with her tied hair up in a relaxed do.

Despite being an Oscar-winning actress, Halle admitted in an interview with The Sun that she was terrified of starring in her first TV in years, because in the quality of television has taken over films.

The star, who plays married astronaut Molly Woods in sci-fi show Extant, said: 'The best things in my opinion are on television now. So I'm lucky to get to be on TV actually.

'In a show of this quality with these show runners, these actors, it's high quality, and I feel really lucky that I get to work in this medium.'

Halle, who's famous for her roles in X-Men, and Mother's Ball, for which she won the Best Actress Oscar in 2002, reveals that playing astronaut Molly has been the hardest part of her career.

'It is a whole lot of work. I mean, I've never worked so hard in my life.

'I was nursing, my baby was just three months old when we started, so I was doing drive-by nursings every two hours and I was over my head - the amount of scenes we shoot in a day, the things I had to memorise...'
