The Senate confirmed Barrett with a 52-48 vote, cementing conservative majority. All but one Republican, Susan Collins of Maine, who herself is battling for re-election, supported Judge Barrett. All 45 Democrats and two independents who caucus with the Democrats opposed her confirmation.
