BOSTON -- The Boston Bruins had a November to remember, and then got December off to a rousing start by signing top-line centre David Krejci to a three-year contract extension. Kellen Clemens Womens Jersey . The deal was reached on Wednesday when the Bruins were in Toronto and announced Thursday by general manager Peter Chiarelli, one day after the Bruins finished November 12-0-1 with a 6-3 win over the Maple Leafs. Krejci, a six-year veteran, scored a goal and added two assists Wednesday night for the Bruins, who had a month without a regulation loss for the first time since January 1969. That comes in the wake of last seasons Stanley Cup championship in which Krejci played a key role. He led the NHL with 23 post-season points, including 11 goals. Krejcis new deal carries an annual salary-cap hit of US$5.25 million, Chiarelli said. The centre could have become a restricted free agent next summer. "Davids biggest asset is his head. He sees the ice so well, he makes plays, he uses the players around him. Hes very competitive," Chiarelli said. "Hes got a very well-rounded game." Krejci, 25, was drafted by the Bruins in the second round in 2004 and played his first six games with Boston in the 2006-07 season. He has 62 goals and 165 assists in 318 games. "Hes got a lot of real good offensive skills and instincts, but I think the two-way game (is underrated)," Chiarelli said. "I dont want to harp on that, but its important if you want to win championships. And I think he takes pride in that. When he first started, his eyes were opened wide to what he had to do to get that element to his game. And hes worked at it." Krejci broke a nine-game goal drought on Wednesday and he has four goals and nine assists in 20 games. He tied for the team lead last season with 62 points (13 goals and 49 assists). "Im still young and my game can grow in every situation," he said. "I can get better, get stronger, faster, get a better shot." Kavell Conner Chargers Jersey . And they needed every bit of scoring they could muster. Malkin had a hat trick and the Penguins almost blew a four-goal lead before holding off the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 on Monday night to clinch their first-round playoff series in six games. Shareece Wright Womens Jersey . -- Chris Campoli didnt want to leave Chicago but when the Blackhawks walked away, he was quite pleased to move to the Montreal Canadiens.Certain losses hurt more than others. The Jets 1-0 loss to the Washington Capitals is one that falls into that category. As it turned out, the winner of this game would jump from 10th in the Jets case and 12th in the Caps case, to seventh in the Eastern Conference. For the Jets it would have put them in a playoff spot for the first time this season, and thats why it hurts. The loss snapped the home win streak at five and the shutout snapped Bryan Littles point streak at seven and goal streak at four. Michal Neuvirth picked up his first shutout of the season and fifth of his career. It was the third time this season the Jets have been shut out. Both teams had chances and both Neuvirth and Ondrej Pavelec were very good. Pavelec has now given up only five goals in his last five home games. Alex Ovechkin came into the game with one goal in his last eight and two in his last 15, but was the only goal scorer in the 1-0 win, and it came with only 1:14 left in regulation.  It was not a happy coach Claude Noel after the game. "We played not to lose, not to win. It was a huge loss. A chance to move up in the standings and we didnt play well." The Jets had 17 shots in the first, but Noel still felt his team was too cute. "We played the way they wanted us to play; an east-west game vs. a nnorth-south game. David Johnson Chargers Jersey. . I am disappointed and extremely mad right now. We were cautious in the third. Why play cautious? Dont play reckless but play in straight lines." The Jets were 0-4 on the power play and have only scored a power play goal in two of the last 11 games. The power play may get a boost Saturday as Tobias Enstrom may very well make his way off IR and into the lineup. He has been out since the end of October with a broken collar bone. Winnipeg also played without Nik Antropov, Alexander Burmistrov, Randy Jones and Antti Miettinen tonight. Miettinen did arrive in Winnipeg prior to game time but with spending a couple of days preparing and travelling to Winnipeg, it is doubtful he will be ready to play until next week. "We deserved exactly what we got," continued a frustrated Coach Noel. "But, I still love our players, they are still good and they dont like to lose either." So its back to work getting ready for Saturdays game against Anaheim (8pm ct on TSN Radio Winnipeg 1290). On the ice its a game, but off the ice it will be the Teemu Selanne night, and a special night it will be. TSNs Sara Orlesky was in Anaheim earlier this week and Selanne said he will always have a special connection to Winnipeg, where his career started. ' ' '
