Day of Bright and Clear

Easter Sunday this year,

Is also Day of Bright and Clear.

New nightmares,

Blended with old scares.

Citrus leaf and peach flowers 

Scattered on the ground.

Willow vines and palm vanes  

Hung on the door front.

 

In my dream, I visited again

The old house I grew up,

And the graveyard where

My parents were buried under.

The stove was dusty and cold.

The chimney, smokeless,

Looked run-down and old.

The wild grasses on the grave, 

Longed for fresh soil and new shave. 

Bony crows stared at the altar,

Hungry for crumbs from the offer.
