Noémie Merlant

Noémie Merlant is a French actress born on February 27, 1988. She is best known for her lead role in the critically acclaimed film "Portrait of a Lady on Fire" directed by Céline Sciamma. Merlant has also acted in several other French films such as "Le ciel étoilé au-dessus de ma tête" and "Lulu femme nue", and has received several award nominations for her performances. Outside of acting, she is also a visual artist and a trained dancer.

Curiosa is a 2019 French biographical film directed by Lou Jeunet

starring Noémie Merlant, Niels Schneider and Benjamin Lavernhe.

It is loosely based on the relationship between 19th-century French authors Pierre Louÿs and Marie de Régnier. Pierre Louÿs was an erotomaniac who took erotic or pornographic photographs of his mistresses. Such erotic or even pornographic representations are referred to as 'curiosa'’, hence the name of the movie.
