Thanks to a well-placed American ambush, "71" is the sole surviving member of its once untouchable panzer battalion! Inside: one Lt. Hunter, some of his finest foxhounds huddled together close-by. The journey towards the homelier frontier is bound to be joyful. But things could get even more interesting with one Lofty Yank intent on getting his hands on that armoured piece of gas-fuelled battery. And never let your guard down when Jeanette is around: you put her on your tank for bullet-protection, but her attitude towards your crewmates is becoming more and more off-putting, to say the least!
Laughable at best. The German Panzers are actually American M46 Patton tanks I believe. The American rifles appear to be HK96 or HK91or possibly FAL or FN rifles, which no one had in WW2. The American Pistols I have no idea about, certainly NOT M1911 45cal pistols. The uniforms are wrong, the guns are wrong, the artillery is wrong. This is the worst WW2 movie I have ever seen
at the end of the 60's and beguening of the 70's a lot of the Italians series B films were shot in Spain, mainly Westerns (In Almeria, where wholes wild west towns were chaply built as films set, hence the saloon). The Spanish army were used to provided the cheap extras and equipment, hence the M46, cetmes rifles, Z45 and the "german helmet" in use wih the spanish army till the late 80's (I used them during my natiolist service). The producers should used the "Infanteria de Marina" (marines) at least they had more american equipment the.Including the helmets, I supose they were more expensive. The film is awful in all senses, the lack of detail, the bad pretentious acting, the grandiose cheese script, everything ridiculous bad. And that, if you don't take it seriously, is what make the movie and the genre so funny to watch, it is simply laughable. Tarantino based his "Inglorious Bastards" inthis genre, as Django were in the Westen one: The Spaghetti films as they were call. Mainly Westerns
