因為美國是一個移民的新興國家， 每個人都有致富的機會。 所以階層主要還是以收入來劃分的。粗分為三個階層: 細分為6個階層:

美國2005年的TOP1%的家庭年收入是35萬美金以上。

美國人講的就是實際！由下麵幾方麵我們也能看出美國人與歐洲人的不同: 英國的有錢人西裝加馬甲， 美國的有錢人牛仔褲加圓領衫； 美國人吃披薩用的是手，歐洲人吃披薩用的是刀叉。

福布斯雜誌如是說:Members of America's ruling class get their start at eight elite schools.

 25 out of 100 US senators have attended one or more ivy league schools.

 57 out of 109 supreme court justices have attended one or more ivy league schools

 14 out of 43 American presidents have attended one or more ivy league schools
