因緣際會
明朝，社會安定。風行烈（林峰飾）雖為蒙古王族後人，但因短暫失憶，對國仇家恨，沒有概念，反培養出逍遙的個性，追求愛情、希望逍遙山林。風行烈為搏紅顏 靳冰雲（郭羨妮飾）一笑，決定盜取重現江湖的覆雨劍，結果遇上了韓柏（黃宗澤飾）。
韓柏，燕王府內的小廝，不懂武功，卻因緣際會得到覆雨劍，誰料寶劍被風行烈盜去。韓柏誓要取回寶劍，二人不打不相識。
世事多變，韓柏遇上當世高手赤尊信（郭峰
飾）把畢生內力傳授給他，令他一夜之間成為高手。相反，風行烈卻被靳冰雲出賣，成為大魔頭龐班（郭政鴻飾）的練功爐鼎，結果龐班練成絕世魔功。風行烈卻武 功盡失，更被龐班追殺，險境中幸得韓柏相救。
情義兩難存
韓柏和失散的生父虛若無（許紹雄飾）大將軍相認。虛若無更將韓柏引薦到朱元璋（高雄飾）麵前，自此，韓柏飛黃騰達。
另邊廂，原來龐班正是當年元朝的國師，他苦練魔功，密謀複國，並選了風行烈為領導同胞的王者。於是，他把風行烈迫到絕路，讓他深切體會到在朱元璋統治底 下，蒙古族人被迫害的慘況，讓風行烈背起民族的責任。風行烈要顛覆明室江山，韓柏卻是朱元璋身邊紅人，二人的矛盾立場，逐漸顯現。
覆雨劍．翻雲刀
風行烈知道要複國，最大的障礙是韓柏。韓柏的翻雲刀法，出神入化，而且他接掌了浪翻雲（薑大衛飾）的江湖第一幫：怒蛟幫。風行烈要打勝他，並無勝算。此 時，龐班道出覆雨劍的秘密。原來覆雨劍乃王者之劍，內藏絕世武功：戰神圖錄。
開啟戰神圖錄，要倚靠「劍心通明」這種上乘心法，修練到「劍心通明」境界的，當今武林唯秦夢瑤（佘詩曼飾）一人。然而夢瑤乃慈航靜齋大弟子，亦是明室江山 的梁柱。風行烈唯有以愛情為手段，打動夢瑤。
同室操戈
朱元璋步入垂暮之年，明室中，最有才能者是燕王朱棣（麥包飾）。於是，風行烈利用離間計，嫁禍朱棣行刺父皇，令朱元璋對朱棣下格殺令。誰不知太孫允炆（李 天翔飾）早已勾結了蒙古人，他才是內奸。
允炆登基，下令禁軍圍捕朱棣，韓柏、夢瑤拚死突圍，保護朱棣離開京師。允炆委任風行烈為削藩主帥，朱棣成立靖難軍，演變成明室內訌，同室操戈。
這時的風行烈已修練成覆雨劍法，武功比韓柏的翻雲刀更高，兩雄相遇，誰勝誰負？江山又會落入誰人之手？
