兒子來電說，美國國慶節那天，他乘美軍HueyCobra（黑鷹）直升飛機，開著門，空懸雙腿於機身外，盤旋巡視紐約自由女神頭像上空，自豪之心油然升起。此刻的他是西點軍校陸軍空勤直升機學生暑期訓練官。大兵哥，你勇敢把年輕的自己獻給祖國，我為你驕傲！
1972年中美建交時，還沒上小學的我，在廣州第一眼見到美國國旗，就愛上這星條旗的美麗。直到如今，我依然深深地愛她的寬容，博愛，自由，民主，盼望。無論是在中國還是在地球的哪個角落，每當我聽到美國國歌，看她的人民在歌聲中自動將手放在胸前的真誠，我都會被感動到熱淚盈眶。自從我們離開故國，投奔這個有星條旗的國度，就知道再也回不去了。我愛這個國家，我願兒子們勤力效勞這個國家，願上帝繼續祝福這個偉大國家！親愛的美國，生日快樂！
