很久以前聽過這首歌，歌詞非常質樸感人。但總覺得是民歌，可能不太適合我唱。母親節來臨之際，選來選去還是最想唱這首，特別是記起沅湘曾貼過這首歌的英文翻譯。
先錄了幾遍中文版的，等唱得較熟了，就拿來英文歌詞試了試，發現沅湘把這首歌詞翻譯得同中文版一樣感人。甚至有些地方我更喜歡英文的詞。
今天就把花了兩晚上時間的中文版和英文初版貼上來，請大家欣賞點評。沒有聽過任何英文版本的演唱，那就自己發揮了。雖然花了不少功夫，但很喜歡這極具新鮮和挑戰的嚐試。為了演唱發音的需要，有些地方做了一點改動。還請沅湘多多原諒和指教了。 這算不算半個“原創”呢？：）
