《星條旗永不落》（The Stars and Stripes Forever），美國國家進行曲。由美國作曲家、軍樂指揮家約翰·菲力浦·蘇薩（John Philip Sousa,1854－1932）創作。另有同名電影《星條旗永不落》。

　　很多人常常將這首歌同由美國律師弗朗西斯·斯科特·基(Francis Scott Key)作詞，美國作曲家約翰·斯塔福德·史密斯（John Stafford Smith）作曲的美國國歌《星條旗之歌》（The Star-Spangled Banner）相混淆。
　　《星條旗永不落》是蘇薩的代表作，創作於1897年（另一說1896年），管樂合奏曲。這首進行曲充分發揮銅管樂隊的表現功能，以磅礴的氣勢和熱烈的情緒歌頌自己的國家和軍隊，頗有鼓動力。霍洛維茨對鋼琴作品有多方麵的廣泛了解，因此他對演奏曲目也是十分的苛求，他把蘇薩的這首《星條旗永不落》改編為一首充滿靈氣和類似二手連彈的樂曲，聽起來如同加上短笛助奏。
　　美國總統尼克鬆1972年首次訪華期間，樂隊曾經高奏《星條旗永不落》，聽眾反應非常熱烈，而這首樂曲也因此而被中國民眾所熟知。或許，這就是很多人把《星條旗永不落》誤認做美國國歌的原因吧。

　　巴爾的摩市東南的麥克亨利堡，建在一個小半島上，是個平麵成五角星狀的要塞，扼進港要道。第二次美英戰爭期間作為前哨陣地抗擊英軍。１８１４年，英國艦隊直撲麥克亨利堡，晝夜連續猛轟此堡。當時，有一位名叫弗朗西斯·斯科特·基的美國律師乘船到英艦交涉釋放被扣留的美國平民。他目擊了英軍炮轟麥克亨利堡及美軍英勇抵抗的慘烈場麵，憂心如焚。1814年9月13日淩晨，弗朗西斯·斯科特·基透過炮火的硝煙，看到一麵美國國旗仍然在城堡上迎風飄揚，他被這景像深深感動，隨手在一封信的背後寫下了幾行詩。後來，他把詩稿送給法官尼科爾遜（Nicholson），得到大力讚賞，並建議用一首當時非常流行的曲子John Stafford Smith作曲的“To Anacreon in Heaven”做為配曲，同時取歌名為“星條旗之歌”（The Star Spangled Banner），這首歌深受美國人民的喜愛，很快就傳遍全國。1931年，美國國會正式將《星條旗永不落》定為美利堅合眾國的國歌。如今，巴爾的摩市的麥克亨利堡已被辟為國家紀念地和曆史聖地。1985年11月7日，巴爾的摩市與中國福建省廈門市結為友好城市。
