Dear Zhi,

Thank you for your call.

As discussed, Fresh Talent participants can work in England.

The Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme was set up with the intention of helping Scotland to address a particular demographic challenge. However, it was not possible to restrict FT:WISS participants to only being able to work in Scotland as the Fresh Talent visa is a UK visa. Therefore, someone with leave under FT:WISS who is working in England, Wales or Northern Ireland is not in breach of their conditions of leave.

Bear in mind that the Fresh Talent Scheme and the International Graduates Scheme (IGS) are going to be both replaced by the Post Study Work this summer of 2008 (date still to be confirmed by the Home Office)

The Post Study Work will enable UK graduates to stay in the UK for up to two years after completing their studies to seek and take work.

Post Study Work applicants will have to have successfully completed a course resulting in either:

    ·       A recognised UK bachelor's degree.

    ·       A recognised UK postgraduate level degree.

    ·       A UK postgraduate diploma or certificate.

    ·       An HND qualification from a recognised Scottish institution.

At a UK institution that is either:

    ·       A recognised or listed UK institution.

    ·       Included on the tier 4 sponsors register once this is in place.

Obtained the qualification whilst in the UK as a :

      ·       Student

      ·       Dependant of someone with valid leave in the UK

Applicants will also have to apply within 12 months after obtaining their qualifications.

Hope that helps.
