在美國如何買與種中國菊花【圖】

菊花是北京的市花，也被評為中國十大名花之三。中國已有三千多年的種菊曆史，現有菊花3,000種左右。



中國的菊花以形，色的多樣化而著稱。花朵千姿百態，如絲，若帶，似珠，近爪，不勝枚舉。花朵五顏六色，深淺各異，可說色色俱全。



人們對菊花有偏愛，也因菊花經春度夏，不畏秋寒而開放的特性，“待到秋來九月八，我花開後百花殺”。菊花被稱為花卉“四君子”(梅、蘭、竹、菊)之一，有稱“寧可枝頭抱香死，何曾吹落北風中”，這種高雅傲霜的品質，被仁人誌士喻作高尚品德的象征，曆來深受中國古代文人的喜歡。至於賞菊，飲酒作詩則更是文人騷客的雅興了。

美國的菊花種類相對較少，花朵小，色彩也比較單一。



幾年前，朋友送了兩棵中國菊花，一棵年年都在秋天開花，可惜另一棵墨菊未能成活。

中國菊花一般很容易種，春天插枝分種，無需太多管理，夏天施些肥，養精蓄銳，需到溫差較大的秋季才開花。菊花的花期比較長，霜凍前最好移至室內。冬天溫度低，可將花枝剪短，不宜過多澆水，次年春天再搬到室外，可以重新發出枝葉生長。

Mums respond well to frequent applications of water soluble fertilizers such as Neptune’s Harvest. Mums are very heavy feeders up to the time the buds are the size of small peas. Mums should not be fertilized after they show color in the fall, fall fertilizing will negatively affect winter hardiness. Trim mums back to within 4-6 inches from the ground after Thanksgiving and apply a protective covering of loose material on the plants after the ground has frozen.
