看來，有沒有 九二共識-The "Consensus of 1992" 還是個問題。當事人蘇起 在2006
年2 月22 號承認，他“ made up the term "1992 consensus" in 2000, before
the KMT handed over power to the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).”，
因為他希望“ break the cross-strait deadlock and alleviate tension.”[1]
而今天， 3 月 29 號，台灣主管大陸事務委員會的副主席，Liu Te-shun ，要求
中國政府公開解釋對“九二共識”的立場，因為正如下文提到的，新華社26日發布的
關於胡錦濤和布什通電話內容的中文版和英文版不一致。

關於九二共識:
The 1992 Consensus or Consensus of 1992 (Chinese: 九二共識; literally, "92
Consensus") is a term used to describe an agreement between the governments
of mainland China and Taiwan that both sides belong to one China, though
each side has different interpretations over what constitutes that one "China".

The "1992 Consensus" resulted from a November 1992 meeting in Hong Kong
between the mainland-based Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait
(ARATS) and the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF).

　　蘇起，1949年10月1日生於台灣台中市，1971年台灣政治大學外交係畢業，1984年
獲美國哥倫比亞大學政治學博士學位及蘇聯研究碩士學位。

及“一中各表”這段話，而在新華社27日所發出的英文版電文中，胡錦濤則有相關
內容。

　　He(即胡錦濤) said it is China's consistent stand that the Chinese Mainland
and Taiwan should restore consultation and talks on the basis of “the 1992
consensus,” which sees both sides recognize there is only one China, but
agree to differ on its definition.（譯文：他表示，這是中國大陸一貫的立場：
大陸和台灣應以“九二共識”的基礎展開協商和談判，雙方都承認隻有一個中國，
但同意對其定義可各自表述。）
