鳥鳴澗 （王維)

人閑桂花落，
夜靜春山空。
月出驚山鳥，
時鳴春澗中。

A casual man is observing the falling petals of osmanthus

in a quiet night when the spring mountains are vastly open

The rising moon startles the mountain birds

which chirp occasionally along the streams of spring

Birds Calling in the Ravine

I'm idle, as Sweet Osmanthus flowers fall,
Night is quiet, as spring moutains are empty at all.
But the moon comes out, startles the birds,
They are calling in the spring ravine, nonstop.

這首詩很平靜, 讀後就象是看了一幅夜靜空山圖. 王維也是一個出色的畫家, 可能對他來說, 詩和畫都是一體的罷.  在心態浮躁的今人, 如我, 初看也不覺得這詩怎樣, 太靜了.

隻是要翻譯了, 才認真想了一下這"空"字, 是真的難翻. 對佛界禪修的人來說, 這個"空"字, 似乎包含了一切.

空財富, 空名望, 空欲望, 空生死.....可是這個"空"並不是真的空, 從另一個角度來說, 這是一個"全", 就是一個思想的完全, 不受外在事物影響的心靈高度. 能夠看空一切, 是多麽高的一個境界啊 :)

可是對今人來說, 這就有些遠了.

這樣的詩, 是很深的沉澱和修養才寫得出來的啊. 禪山空穀, 胸懷若虛.
