歌曲賞析

　　歌詞裏歌頌的生命萬歲是指自由的意思，生命不是單純活著，而是自由的有意義的活著。歌名是西班牙語，也是一句名句。
　　從歌詞中可看出，這首歌寫的人物是路易十六，其背景是法國大革命前後。“Revolutionaries wait for my head on a silver plate”這句歌詞可以明顯看出，還有一句形容法國大革命的那股革命風暴的就是“It was a wicked and wild wind”。該段最後一句“Oh who would ever want to be king?”，我想算得上是對路易十六的同情吧。
　　雖說路易十六和瑪麗王後毫不在乎法國人民的生活，對政治的漠不關心很不負責任，但我覺得這更像是命運和他們玩了一個遊戲，而且他們輸了。
　　瑪麗原本隻是一個什麽都不懂，天真的小公主，加上她本身並不像維多利亞一樣那麽靈敏，她更像一個鄰家女孩，完全不適合宮廷裏的明爭暗鬥。若她不是一個公主，沒有嫁入法國王室，隻是一個普通的女孩，那麽她很有可能過著美好的生活，活潑待人真誠熱情的她也會受到人們的喜愛，或許還會因她在藝術方麵的領悟能力而成為一名藝術家。但是她不是，命運無情的把她塞入一個公主的身份裏，讓她接受她根本無法承受的厚禮——成為王後。她不懂政治，她不知道她身邊的最親近的朋友是為什麽和她親近，她是一個輕而易舉就能被人利用，過後還全然不知發生過了什麽的女孩，她怎麽能當王後？而且她也不知道到王後是什麽，隻知道當上了王後就可以享受榮華富貴，沒有人告訴過她王後的責任是什麽。
　　路易十六也不是一個當國王的料，反而是他的那些可怕的兄弟更適合當國王（真不知道他這個王位怎麽混來的！）。不可不承認，他的確是一個好丈夫，他總是毫無怨言地為瑪麗償還巨額債務，如果他是一個普通人，人們談論的則是他對瑪麗的好，而不是他的笨拙。
　　就像《斷頭王後》的作者斯蒂芬•茨威格所說的：
　　“他們都不過是平凡的普通人，他們既不殘忍也不邪惡。相反，與大多數人一樣，有著和善友好的基本品質。生育一個平凡時代，他們或許還是能受到人們的普遍尊敬。可悲的是，他們都不具備應付動蕩混亂的傑出能力，在戲劇化的曆史中頑強堅定地活著。他們注定隻能不平凡的死去。

　　在2009年2月9日揭曉的第51屆格萊美音樂獎中，酷玩【Coldplay】榮獲最佳單曲【Viva la Vida】獎、最佳流行組合大獎和最佳搖滾專輯獎。

專輯封麵

 專輯創作背景　　專輯的名字來自一位墨西哥藝術家Frido Kahlo給自己的一幅畫的命名。
　　在這張專輯製作的早期，三名樂隊成員各自把對新專輯的想法都寫在一張白板上，每一個人的想法都很激進前衛，最後，Chris Martin收回了他的看法。他希望以後有機會再遊說他們。"我聽到波諾(Bono Vox,U2樂隊主唱)曾經說過一句話，'樂隊不應該為錢而分裂，他們應該隻為了歌曲名單而分裂，'”他說，在這一點上，沒有什麽比這更有針對性了。”
　　這張專輯唱片是Coldplay第一次同著名英國音樂製作布萊恩.伊諾（Brian Eno）合作，從而使專輯的風格同前三張有明顯的不同，在保留Coldplay原有的舒緩、激情又略帶傷感風格的同時，又增加了音樂的氣勢，更加粗獷和鮮明，並揉入了拉丁樂風格大多數聽起來令人耳目一新， 完全不同於他們以往的熱門歌曲“Clocks”和“Speed Of Sound”。主唱Chris Martin說，這是受了他們在拉美巡演的影響。

　　英國最大的唱片連鎖店HMV說，在Viva La Vida唱片發行前，他們收到了大量網上唱片預訂單，數量之多創下了預訂紀錄。唱片商店HMV還預測，這張唱片將可能成為英國今年的最暢銷專輯唱片。Viva La Vida的發行，似乎給英國低迷的唱片界注入了一針強心劑。
專輯封麵釋義
　　《自由引導人民》，（同名專輯封麵） 本畫取材於1830年法國的七月革命事件。1830年7月26日，國王查理十世取消議會，巴黎市民紛紛起義。27至29日為推翻波旁王朝，與保皇黨展開了戰鬥，並占領了王宮，在曆史上稱為"光榮的三天"。在這次戰鬥中，一位名叫克拉拉·萊辛的姑娘首先在街壘上舉起了象征法蘭西共和製的三色旗；少年阿萊爾把這麵旗幟插到巴黎聖母院旁的一座橋頭時，中彈倒下。畫家德拉克洛瓦目擊了這一悲壯激烈的景象，又義憤填膺，決心為之畫一幅畫作為永久的紀念。
