學金融，商業 （finance）是個好的選擇嗎？

高中senior的女兒一直想學醫，該報大學了又想學金融，商業，發揮她數學好的優勢。我們都是學理工科的，對商業不懂。
請問學金融，商業是個好選擇嗎？若學金融，商業，去紐約最好嗎？哪個學校最好？
