Jiang Wen's The Sun Also Rises which was set to make it's premiere at this years Cannes Film Festival. Set to complete for the the Golden Palm, has run into a big problem.

Being cleared by the Chinese Film Board, with editing of the film said to be completed a month ahead of schedule. The unexpected has happened as some parts of the film were mangled during postproduction.

A finished first edition copy has already been turned over to the jury, but the finale word has yet to be determined.
If The Sun Also Rises doesn't make it in time, public screening of the movie could be delayed. Which means it will not make it's premiere until a later film festival this year.

The Sun Also Rises stars Jiang Wen, Anthony Wong, Jaycee Chan, Joan Chen, and Zhou Yun. Official release Oct 2007
