提起YMCA，估計80年代以後出生的朋友們大多不甚了了；而對於生於70年代或者更早一些的朋友來說，印象最深的大概莫過於那首存在眾多不同語言翻唱版的Y-M-C-A以及那雙手高高舉過頭頂（Y）、雙手彎曲置於雙肩（M）、雙手向右（C）、雙手麵前交叉（A）的標誌性集體舞蹈動作。當年這首歌曲在DISCO的流行程度至今讓人難以忘懷，全場上下整齊一致的動作，將氛圍急速推升至最HIGH點~~~
所謂YMCA，其實是Young Men's Christian Association 的英文簡寫，中文名“基督教青年會”；它是一個遍布全世界的基督教青年組織，發源於英國倫敦，是由一位英國基督徒青年僑治威廉(George Williams)於公元1844年所立的。
YMCA是Village People最著名也是最經典的歌曲。
