Against Milton Friedmen's complain, FED and presdient Hoover intervened heavily after the 1929 crash. FED lowered official interest rate to negative(yes, below zero), and kept at zero for some time. Did this cure the market? Not to mention BOJ's zero rate only send precicous capital overseas.

Yes, Virginia, it makes more sense to do Yen carrytrade then to invest in Japan to build up local economy. My humble view to patriotic Japanese: preserve your $$$ so after you see massive debt liquidation in Japan, move your money back and then it is time to invest in Japan again. Don't sink with those politicians (yes, elected by your fellow citizens who vote)!
