PRADA風靡全球，日本、台灣等地更是瘋狂，滿街的人都在背PRADA的尼龍包。但是很少人知道，PRADA的曆史起源於1913年，而且是以製造高級皮革製品起家的。
PRADA男裝的特色，在於古典簡約又不失年輕化的設計，像是60年代意大利拿波裏造型的西裝，因Muccia用了具有伸縮性的現代感素材，複古中賦予新意，可說創造了流行的獨特風格。
非常重視品質的PRADA產品，是在意大利水準最高的工廠製作的，這也就是為什麽穿上PRADA產品會感到舒適無比的原因。盡管強調品牌風格年輕化，但品質與耐用的水準依舊，特別注重完整的售後服務，這也是以高級皮革製品起家的PRADA，至今仍講究的傳統。
PRADA可謂說是一個老字號，但由於它的出品追求完美，所以無論老少，對此品牌的認知度絕不遜於其它任何牌子。要回溯PRADA的曆史，必須從二十世紀初談起……
意大利人注重家族觀念，時尚工業也不例外，PRADA 就是其中代表。PRADA草創於20世紀初，因當時活絡的商業貿易與交通商旅頻繁，創立人Mario PRADA開始製造一係列針對旅行的手工皮件產品，並於1913年開設一間精品店。70年代，時尚環境變遷，PRADA幾近瀕臨破產邊緣，1978年 Miuccia PRADA與其夫婿Patrizio Bertelli共同接管PRADA，帶領PRADA邁向全新裏程碑。
Miuccia接手之際，PRADA仍是流傳於歐洲、代代相傳的家族，若沒有創新與突破，很容易沒落。Miuccia企圖尋找和傳統皮料不同的新穎材質，曆經多方嚐試，從空軍降落傘使用的材質中找到尼龍布料，以質輕耐用為根基，“黑色尼龍包”一炮而紅！PRADA直至1989年才推出首次秋冬服裝秀，一反當時潮流的設計贏得不少讚美；90年代，打著“Less is More”口號的極簡主義應運而生，而PRADA簡約、帶有一股製服美學般的設計正好與潮流不謀而合。1993年，PRADA推出秋冬男裝與男鞋係列，一時之間旗下男女裝、配件成為追求流行簡約與現代摩登的最佳風範；90年代末期，休閑運動風潮發燒，PRADA推出PRADA Sport係列，兼具機能與流行的設計，造成一股旋風。
PRADA亮眼的表現主要歸功於PRADA的設計與現代人生活型態水乳相融，不僅在布料、顏色與款式工夫，其設計背後的生活哲學正巧契合現代人追求切身實用與流行美觀的雙重心態，在機能與美學之間取得完美平衡，不但是時尚潮流的展現，更是現代美學的極致。

Miu Miu是意大利著名品牌PRADA的副線(Secondary line)。相信大部份時裝迷均知道PRADA是由Mario PRADA創立的家族生意，以生產手袋聞名歐洲。然而，未必所有時裝迷都知道Miu Miu的由來沿革。Miu Miu就是PRADA第三代傳人Miuccia PRADA小姐的昵稱。
1992年，Miuccia創立副線Miu Miu，以更年青的顧客為銷售對象。風格上，比主線年青跳脫。這不但為PRADA的品牌風格開辟了一片新天空，也為PRADA開拓了財源，Miu Miu令PRADA賺大錢。正所謂“名利雙收”，“名氣”永遠會跟著“利祿”而來，趕也趕不走。Miuccia 的名氣也隨著她的財富暴漲而遞增。
1993年，Miuccia PRADA奪得Council of Fashion Designers of America的國際大獎；1995年，更贏得年度“最佳時裝設計師”的美譽。
