Tell you a true Enron

Enron was a great business before it  made some bad investments.
The idea of trading derivative of energy is a huge innovation. Unfortunately the company made some awful investments in several countries. Such investments did not produce the cash flow as expected and cause the shortage of liquidity in the company and all subsequent fraudulent wrongdoings.
Even after Enron's collapse,  the former Enron traders are still hot in the business. Many of Enron alumni joined hedge funds and trading operations and kept pushing the unfinished business of Enron in the commodity markets, that is, trading commodities of all kinds  from natural-gas and power trading to experimental futures markets in pollution-emission credits and weather contracts.
To some extent, Enron's experience is quite similar to NanDe company in China. Both leaders ( Kenneth Lay,Jeffrey Skilling and Mo Qizhong) have wonderful imagination and unfortunately expand the business too fast and fail to manage the liquidity risk. I think part of the fraud should be attributed to the Chief Financial Officer Andrew Fastow, who is now serving his six year's prison.
