【內容簡介】：
　　老北京有句話：這人要是精，成不了龍，也得成個“蟲兒”。
　　“蟲兒”指的就是在一個行當裏深入進去，成了行家裏手的那些人。
　　當今的中國人都知道，要是沒有改革開放，中國人就永遠擺脫不了貧窮。改革開放在每個小人物身上最突出的表現，就是最大限度地煥發了每個人生存的本能。社會的變革必然帶來人際關係的變化，也必然使每個人發生深刻變化。人們在進行生存競爭過程中，不同的人適應著社會，順應著社會，物競天澤，適者生存。每個在自己所能馳騁的天地裏有所造就的人，都在努力把自己變成那個領域裏的“蟲兒”。隨著改革開放年深久，這些“蟲兒”們的人生曆程，構成了我們這個社會色彩斑闌的眾生百態圖。
　　《人蟲——小人物的故事》取材於劉一達的紀實文學集《人蟲兒》。主要表現在我國改革開放的二十年裏，發生在北京社會生活中各行各業的“蟲兒”們身上的故事。
　　全劇采用大係列、小連續的形式，通過《買賣蟲兒的故事》《沉浮古玩蟲兒》《房蟲兒入海》《與票蟲兒鬥法》的不同故事，以滴水見太陽的方式，塑造出了一個個鮮活生動的人物，描畫出當今社會變革給每個人帶來的巨大變化.
