A Healthy Mind

Once upon a time I went to a real estate broker’s office and saw a little rock thingy with the following inscription:

A neat table is the sign of a sick mind

And I wanted to do two things right away:
1. Say out loud: AMEN!
2. Pocket the rock and make a run for the door (not really… : ))

This message corroborated my long time belief that I, of the entire human race, have the healthiest mind. : D

Just to give you an idea what I mean. Every morning, I go into my cube and I put down my bags/purses on the floor. I then take up the stuff that people left for me on my chair and put them on top of one of the many many piles on my desk. Next I push one of such piles away from around the power/cable cords, gingerly lay down my laptop and at the same time trying not to crush any food, ornaments, toys, stationeries so on and so forth.

Given how post-war like my cube looks, people are always very surprised at my ability of fishing and getting (!) most of the stuff that I need in less than a minute.

Every once in a while I will clean up my cube/desk and it will stay a generic messy cube for a few days before it “corrupts” (all by itself, honestly!) again.

The other day my new admin Betty stopped by and said: God, you are busy!

I said, in my trademark modest fashion ; ) : no no, I’m just messy.

Not giving up on me, Betty offered: you need an office.

Very ungratefully I said: I will just trash it up in no time.

And as a person who lives by her words, I looked around my cube and smiled most proudly.

Amen.
