I was sick yesterday.

I got sick A LOT after I came to Chicago.

This city, or more specifically, my new office in this city SICKENS me.

I was caught quite off guard yesterday by the violent uncomfort because I have been relatively sick-free for almost 2 months and I thought I was more or less cured.

Anyway, besides making an update of my physical health, I'm more inclined to report on my "intellectual enjoyments".

(By the way, I do feel quite pleased with the title of this entry. I think it's a bit clever. And if you happen to bump in here and find my self-admiration not to your taste - DO please keep it to yourself - I am in general not hugely interested in how other people think of me. But feel free to amuse yourself at my expense - I give you that permission. HA HA HA.)

As a segue into my recent intellectual activities, let me just tell you that one of the books I'm reading now is a book by the stand-up comedian Paula Poundstone. AND my copy is signed by her true real physical self. Not only that, above her sigature, there are PROPER SENTENCES all led by a dedication to yours truly and someone she loves (i.e. EP).

Although I am interested in certain celebrities (e.g. Angelina Jolie), I'm not remotely as intrigued in celebrity sighting in real life. Come to think of it, it is Chicago that led me to do something so out-of-character.

You see, I am nerdy, and liberal minded too. And that is why one of the attractions that Chicago has, in my mind, is the live taping of the NPR quiz show Wait Wait Don't Tell me in the Chase Auditorum every Thursday night.

I've wanted to go see the show even before I came here. And it only took me 6 months to walk the 4 or 5 blocks between our office building and the Chase Tower.

The thing is that I always wanted to see the show when Paula Poundstone was on the panel.
