happiness is a choice

it's very junior, if not outrightly silly, to think the place you live in determines if you are happy or not,

truth is, there is no heaven anywhere. Heaven mostly often means the what you have lost or what you would never have.

We get going with the place we choose, by purpose or by chance, and hopefully make the best of it. The older we are, the more path-dependent we become.

to debate the merits of a place or another without the context of what you do in that environment is very artificial and, frankly, a dead-end thinking,

it's very childish, if not outrightly moronic, to think in a "if not white, then black" way, or in this case, "if you are not totally satisfied of each and every thing in life, you are not happy at all"

there are many level of happiness, security, relaxation, sense of belonging and achievement, feeling satisfied, feeling free, feeling in love and being loved, etc etc. There are so many aspect of happiness that it really becomes a meaningless exercise to take it as a single abstract concept.

and, frankly, it's only a sign of maturity for a man to understand, and to take in, the fact that life is always a compromise. You take what you are given, and make the best of it.

happiness is within your inner self, it is, at the end, your choice,
