多餘的話

反對囉嗦累贅委員會決定,在召開首屆會議之前不開會,因此在召開首屆會議之前沒有會。
他們希望在首屆會議前發布的的會前公告闡明這一點,以免誤會。
所以,他們的首屆會議將是實際上的首屆會議,在首屆會議之前不開會。
這樣就可避免在首屆會議召開之前有人出席,因為這會令那些人誤會,而這正是他們向通過減少誤會和減少囉嗦累贅來予以避免的。

(The Committee for the Reduction of Redundancy and the Anti-proliferation of Repetition has decided not to meet until they have their first meeting and thus will not be meeting until the first time.

Their Pre-meeting Statement wanted to make this clear before they had their first meeting, so that it would not be confusing.

So their first meeting will actually be their first meeting and they will not have a meeting before the first meeting.

This should avoid having people show up for their first meeting before it is held, since to do so would be confusing to those who did so and this is what they want to avoid by reducing the confusion and lessening the repetition.)

英語中有些官樣文章,就是這麽囉裏囉嗦的。甚至有些詞組,也都經不起仔細推敲, 如某些連帶situation(局麵), , process(進程), level(水平) 等的詞,本身就具有了局麵,進程,水平的意思了:

emergency situation(緊急狀況), crisis situation(危機局麵), standoff situation(對峙局麵),
rehabilitation process(康複過程), peace process(和平進程), learning process(學習過程), healing process(痊愈過程), planning process(規劃過程).
Confidence level(信心水平), intensity level(強度水平).

還有這些老生常談:
added bonus(附加補貼), closed fist(握緊的拳頭), future potential(未來潛力), money-back refund(退款), young children(年輕小孩), end result(終極結果), free gift(免費禮物), bare naked(赤身裸體), joint cooperation(攜手合作), subject matter(主題事項), general public(普羅大眾), future plan(未來計劃), advance warning(預先警告), outer rim(外環), inner core(內核), first time ever(平生第一次), shrug one’s shoulders(聳肩) , serious crisis(嚴重危機), security guard(保安), past experience(以往的經驗), school teacher(學校老師)

所以,我們作為學校的老師應該根據以往的經驗,攜手合作,預先警告年輕的小孩注意“避免囉嗦重複”這一主題事項,為此製定未來計劃,發揮他們的未來潛力,以期取得終極結果。

(Therefore, as schoolteachers, we should, based on our past experience, carry out joint cooperation to provide advance warning to young children on the subject matter of Reduction of Redundancy and Repetition, and come up with future plans to tab their future potential in order to achieve the end result. )
