The focus of most celebrations involves eating zongzi(sticky rice/glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo leaves),drinking realgar wine,and racing dragon boats. The sun is considered to be at its strongest around the time of summer solstice.

多數慶祝焦點包括吃粽子（竹葉包裹著黏米），喝雄黃酒，賽龍舟。在夏至時，太陽被認為最強烈。

Chinese to English:

端午節起源於中國，最初是中國人民祛病防疫的節日。吳越之地春秋之前有在農曆五月初五以龍舟競渡形式舉行部落圖騰祭祀的習俗。

The Duanwu festival originated from China was a holiday to treat or prevent disease initially. There were customs of sacrificing totems by dragon boat racing among tribes in WuYue region before ChunQiu times.
