精英優惠 is EARNED by the employees through their stays at a particular program.

酒店 INDEED 根據精英身份特別優惠 - but it is NOT the price.  It is the special treatments such as room upgrades,  at your service, 24 hours guarantee, executive lounges, complementary breakfasts, welcome gifts, etc etc.  These are from 精英身份.  Different statuses within the same program get different treatments too.  Such as BonVoy, Ambassdor gets the most and the best, followed by Titanium, then Platinum.

For those whose travel are 100% leisure out of own pocket, the BonVoy Platinum is probably the status that makes the most sense.
