將中文古詩譯成英文，應該是非常好的嚐試和學習的過程。我在讀了唐詩和翻譯成英文的英文詩之後，有下麵幾點感受。

1. 不同的語言分別是不同的係統，因此它們有一些特性是隻屬於它們的。比如蘋果和蘋果PIE。蘋果的清甜香脆隻屬於蘋果，蘋果做成蘋果PIE之後，即便再好吃，蘋果的清甜香脆也不在其中。雖然它們都有共同的東西，但是它們屬於不同的“係統”。

 

2. 唐詩英譯應該對於學習語言，特別是英文，有很大幫助。英文也像中文，有古英語的一些用詞和特點。所以要把中文古詩翻譯成英文，可能需要學習一些“古英語”，正如我們學習古文一樣。

 

3. 英語詩歌也有現代和古代之分，具體如何我沒有研究過。基督教的聖詩很多都是以古典詩歌的形式寫成，比如下麵這首”Be Thou My Vision”, 其中的寫作手法和押韻是很有講究的。

 

4. 當對古英語和古典英文詩歌有一些了解之後，對於唐詩的英譯，最好是以古英語的形式翻譯出來。

 

5. 個人認為，唐詩英譯之後的更高境界，應該是自己獨立創作出一些古典英文詩歌。
