I named a tear after you

 

I named a tear after you,

when my eyes were blurred by morning dew.

It’s been frozen in my heart,

since the sun tore our last night apart.  

The tear warns me not to renew

a helpless feeling that you’re to subdue.

A tear is a period for a fruitless love,

and sets free the sky-soaring dove. 

So the warmth of a new love will ensue 

and melt in my heart the last trace of you.
