C/P:

Korean Battle Chronology is a history of U.S. involvement in the war as told through its casualties--by the dates they occurred, their causes, their numbers, the battles in which they were sustained and the units in which they occurred. It documents 109,935 U.S. Army combat casualties, both fatal and non-fatal, and 6,276 fatalites for the other services (4,610 Marine Corps, 1,200 Air Force and 466 Navy). It also provides a historical context for each of these losses. The data recorded in Korean Battle Chronology were produced from databases that list every recorded casualty by name.

This web site will give you a summary of the data recorded in the book for all U.S. Army combat losses in the war, by unit and by the type of casualty. Although almost 600 different Army units reported casualties in the war, most losses were reported by eleven major participating units (eight divisions and three regimental combat teams). Each of these units is represented by an icon below, which will serve as a button to access the table listing that unit's casualties. For infantry divisions, you will find the data listed by divisional units (regiments, artillery battalions, engineer and armored units etc.) Supporting units for the regimental combat teams are also listed. Within regiments, no further identification of unit of assignment (i.e., battalion or company) was made.

The last button in the group below, represented by the 8th Army patch, will access a table listing casualties for all non-divisional units in which combat losses were significant.
